  James,

  Suggestion would be to do what Ray Jones suggests after you fix the carburetor. Then, before you stick the plugs back in, squirt some Marvel Mysterry oil into the plug ports. Then, crank it over to lubricate the cylinders. Gas washes the cylinders and can cause cranking compression problems. Also clean the plugs. Blow them off with compressed air at least.
