Eyeglasses would get crunched in our ’55. I have observed that Chrysler provided a 9” wide brake pedal in the C-300 so as to make room for both feet. Has anyone played around with the shop manual clearance specs for the C300 Kelsey-Hayes power brake unit? Since I didn't recognize the cover of the magazine I had to go and check my inventory and did find it there at least. Then had to reread the article of course and noticed on the page after the end that there is an ad for MoPar add on power brakes. Never knew that this was being sold. Interestingly the picture shows stepping on the brake pedal with a pair of Eye Glasses under the drivers foot and of course they aren't broken since so little effort is needed. Interestingly the floor shot is of a pre-55 car also. Anyone ever seen an add on assembly?? -----Original Message----- From: Chrysler300@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx <mailto:Chrysler300%40yahoogroups.com> [mailto:Chrysler300@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx <mailto:Chrysler300%40yahoogroups.com> ] On Behalf Of Rich Barber Sent: Friday, December 23, 2011 1:04 AM To: Chrysler300@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx <mailto:Chrysler300%40yahoogroups.com> Subject: [Chrysler300] Mechanix Illustrated May 1955 350508661521 on eBay. For those that collect the old literature this May, 1955 issue of MI contains the Tom McCahill road test of the ’55 300 and a report on Speed Week in it. I bought one copy (of the car and magazine), but have not yet received the magazine. eBay: http://tinyurl.com/7j3dgjr This was just one of many articles written about the mighty Chrysler 300 in 1955 and since. There was a collective gasp from the public as they realized anyone with enough money could buy a 300 HP track-ready stock car right off the showroom floor. The rest is the amazing history and creation of an American Icon. Rich, This is the mag. that got the solid as Grant's tomb@ 130 M.P.H. in it.
