Re: [Chrysler300] 300C lower ball joint boots troubles

The press in joints will not work on a 300-C, or any Chrysler at least up to the 80's I believe.

Up here in the rusty North East USA, cars don't last that long. I save most old ball joints, and other original parts, because the replacements are mostly made in china of low quality materials. The original boot was a 3 piece affair with a steel cup on the joint, then the boot, and then another steel cap over the boot. I just parted a 57 Windsor. I can send you a picture after I get them cleaned up if you like.

  Hello

Does anyone have a source for the boots for lower ball joints?

I bought a front end kit from Andy Bernbaum Auto Parts and installed the
parts about a year ago. The car is still being restored so no miles on it.
I have now found my lower ball joint boots cracked and split through. These
ball joints must have been either very old stock or very poor quality. I
have sent an email to Berbaum explaining this over a month ago and have
  received no response. Be warned.

I would like to just buy some good quality boots (on-line to Australia) but
it appears they aren't available separately. If I must buy the whole ball
  joint - so be it.

I saw on RockAuto site premium Raybestos ball joints, but they say these are
  press in type? http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/moreinfo.php?pk=1032580
Mine are screw in. Are press in joints a replacement for screw in? Would
the boots fit the screw in ball joint? Any experience with these or other
  alternatives, please email direct.

  Thanks

  Henry in hot Brisbane Australia
