Good point, Mike.  I see that URL.COM now first directs the seeker to a
preview site that lists the original website in all its length and glory.
If that site address looks OK, the seeker can continue to the site.  Anyway,
the pretty yellow '57C coupe has been bid up to $16,111 and not yet met
reserve.

 

A safer way of transmitting e-Bay offerings would be to just post the
auction number  and let the seeker highlight, copy and paste the number into
the search box at the e-Bay site.  Such as:  120854538075       for this
car.  I note its paint code is "XXX".  Adult content, for sure!

TinyURLs are probably fine if they are received from people one is
acquainted with, but the person who uses these links has no idea where the
URL is going to take them. Abbreviated URLs, like TinyURL, are a favorite of
the disseminators of viruses, malware, etc. They take the unsuspecting user
to a drive-by infected site, where an infection is immediately acquired.

Use them with great caution!!!

This 300D was for sale on eBay December 2007 with a no sale in CA. Asking 
price then was $25,000. It was also for sale on eBay in April 2004. Don't 
know if it was sold at that time or what the reserve was.
It looks rough, but restorable with lots of time and money.

so your link would then look like this for this instance

as far as I can experiment, this works with all listings
