Hello, everyone: For those who plan a differental gear change (2.76 to 3.23), there's a good chance the differential carrier will not be the same (741 to a 742 or 489). If so, you will need an adapter universal joint that can accomodate the difference in the wider yoke inner span (2 5/8") on the carrier while keeping the same drive shaft span (2 1/8"). It's far less expensive than altering the driveshaft. Below are the sources and part numbers for the adaptor joint: Spicer # 5-527 Precision #347 TRW #20226 Mancini #5-527x Auto Zone #2-0527 NAPA #NUJ 240 0369 NEAPCO #2-0527 I recently purchased the NEAPCO joint but my search found the other part numbers found these. Check for availability as some stores may no longer carry this joint. I thought this information would be useful to some of you. Thanks to those who brought this to my attention. The adapter joint fit like a hand in a glove.
