Mr Paul and group, My wife and I opened a shop here in Sedona, AZ, some thirty-two years ago. We service and repair most everything. Our VMS (vehicle maintenance service) includes a visual inspection by one of us, new oil, filter AND tire pressure checks TO INCLUDE the spare tire. I used to have ASE master certification in auto and heavy duty and my son still does. Our longest with us employee that also performs VMS work is master certified, auto, also. Point is: without this level of expertise, I do not want you to touch my vehicle. Basic VMS charge here is $30 plus oil and filter and this is above what "Speedy Lube' charges and we are barely above cost. Proper service takes time. 'Speedy Lube' service scares me and not just because they do not check the spare tire. Every first time customer, spare tire pressure is way below spec.I would not use 'Speedy Lube' back when I was a practicing engineer in CA before I retired here to do what I do now. That space saver spare will do the job it was intended to do if it has the correct level of air pressure. Road service can correct low pressure in a spare but most changing their own tires in an emergency will run on a flat spare - but not far. Reaching in the trunk and finding a flat spare in the middle of nowhere I guess is upsetting. Was to our neighbor shop owner (who now has his people check spare tire pressures). Not having a spare can be bad also I think. Space saver spare tires have a service life. They rot and can go boom in the trunk. They are then useless and are very expensive to replace. There is always eBay by the way I would suggest if you ever need a replacement one for your Saab.
