I experienced a backfire in my '55 which produced a fire in the bat-wing requiring a fire extinguisher to put out. This occurred in the garage. Net result, lots and lots of white powder all over the engine compartment and garage; burned paint on bat-wing and what remained of the internal fiber insulation up in smoke. Before I refinished the wing about a year ago, I tried cutting up and stuffing pieces of "red" scotch bright pad in place of the fiber as there was little left anyway. I would not say the effort was very successful due to the small "air holes" in other words limited access! Has anyone out there found a material that was capable of acting as a filter and how in *#* did you manage to "install" the material without destroying the pods. ------------------------------------ To send a message to this group, send an email to: Chrysler300@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx To unsubscribe from this group, send an email to bob@xxxxxxxxxxxxx or go to http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/Chrysler300/join and select the "Leave Group" button For list server instructions, go to http://www.chrysler300club.com/yahoolist/inst.htm For archives go to http://www.forwardlook.net/300-archive/search.htm#querylangYahoo!
