Hmm... water pumps come up for me. OK, I just deleted the brake backing plate which was the only other pic in the album. So just the water pumps should show up now. 

  

Nothing seems wrong with the old pump but I have taken off the whole water pump housing so I could flush out the water jacket of engine block. I thought it might an opportune time to replace the pump, but I'm not so sure after comparing new vs. old so I'm looking for opinions of others more experienced than I in these things.

The impeller vanes on the original 1960 water pumps are real heavy duty cast iron. New water pumps have stamped impeller vanes. Does anyone have any data whether the originals pump any better than the replacements?
