Thanks to all who provided insight on how to get my top working again. All the air is removed and the top now goes up and down smoothly. Based on your input this is the procedure I used: With the top lowered I filled the reservoir and raised and lowered the top. While the top was down I refilled the reservoir then raised and lowered the top again. I filled the reservoir and completed this process, filling the reservoir each time the top was lowered. I repeated this at least 6 times until the reservoir remained full with the top lowered. I was amazed at the amount of fluid it took to refill the reservoir after each cycle. However, it does make sense that when the air is expelled it must be replaced with fluid. Thanks again for all the advice.
