Thanks for the detail, Gil. Several people sent off-list responses pointing out that the hose routing is indeed illustrated in the manual, but it's under Accessories. I couldn't fathom is being anywhere else but Cooling System. Just goes to show ya. Gary ----- Original Message ----- Gary and All: Sorry to be so late getting at this. Family activities. I took a lot of time with this when doing my 300F, and its heater does seem to work very well. I did also rebuild the control. When it is off, there seems to be no hot air that "sneaks" through, and when on provides plenty. Anyway, will try to put the routing into words. 1. The hose from the OUTBOARD control nipple curves down and inboard around the heater housing and attaches to the nipple "under" the heater housing. 2. The hose from the INBOARD control nipple is routed towards the right side fender inner, where it is clipped, and continues on over the generator to the REAR water pump nipple. 3. The hose from the farthest inboard (highest as well) heater housing nipple is routed across the top of the engine, curving around the right side of the coil and connecting to the FRONT water pump nipple. Hope this is clear enough. Feel free to ask for any clarifications as needed. 300ly, Gil Cunningham In a message dated 7/18/2012 10:10:56 P.M. I've looked through dozens of photos of club member's engine bays and I see a lot of inconsistencies: some go one way, some go another. Here goes. On the heater box on the firewall there are four hose connections. Two of them get connected together with a one-foot piece of hose. The remaining two get connected to the two nipples on the water pump housing. Here is pic of the top of a water pump housing. http://tinyurl.com/86re98p OK, the photo is actually of a later 440 housing, but the hose routing is identical. The question is, which which connection on the heater box goes to which connection on the water pump? Passenger side of heater box to water pump nipple closest to fan blades? I'd especially like to hear from someone who can tell me which side is the inlet and which is the outlet of both the water pump and heater box.
