Dave and All: That thing is pretty hard to see! I did not Cd plate mine when I restored the car. If the original was, I would have done so. Mine looks like a semi gloss black, the best I can make out. The bolts fastening it to the manifold appear to be natural, or perhaps the "black oxide" (Chrysler called it phosphated) finish. At any rate they are not rusted. As you noticed paint on the mating surfaces, the bracket was probably painted regardless of any other finish. 300ly, Gil C. In a message dated 9/11/2012 12:33:34 P.M.
