Mark; If the cracks do not penetrate through they are usually casting flaws. If you have reason to be concerned you could have them welded or stop drilled. My bell housings were not painted. One runs from the front to back of the housing and the other is in the middle about 3" long. Neither crack goes through to the outside and cracks are not visible at the ends. Your thoughts please. Next, is the torque converter housing painted or did it get a good dose of black over spray when the engine was painted? Thanks for your feedback.
