See internet link above for pictures. I received a call a few days ago from
a gentleman named Rand Walker (not a club member) from Vancouver Island,
British Columbia who contacted me regarding this 300J for general advice.
He has examined the car in person but has decided not to buy it at this
time, hence I am passing this information on to the club. 

This is exciting from the standpoint that at least according to my roster,
the VIN on this car was heretofore unknown to the club. That makes this the
SECOND new 300J VIN we have found in the last two months (the last new 300J
VIN in October being the red one in Rockford, IL that was recently purchased
by club member Mark Oberman). The VIN on this J in Canada is 8433210321,
making it a spring 1963 build, probably about April.

This is essentially a one-family, mostly original car. The orignal owner was
a dealership in Port Alberni, British Columbia. He picked up the car in
Detroit and drove it back to Vancouver Island. In 1965 the current owner
bought the car, and it has passed to the son who is selling the car. The
car was originally oyster white from the factory but was resprayed an
incorrect red color in 1970. At the same time, the original 413 was removed
and stored, and a 440 short block was installed (the owner thought he'd get
more power), along with the J heads, short rams, headers and carbs. Rand
reported to me the paint is in fair condition with chips and checking, but
that the car appears to be quite solid. The interior is original and in
good survivor condition as evidenced by the photos on the internet, and Rand
reports that the dash and steering wheel are in excelelnt condition. Rand
reports that the car runs and drives well. He is awaiting photos of the
original engine block with validation of the "C300J" stamp. He describes
the car overall as "20 footer." The asking price is currently $12,900. The
owners name is Lyle and he can be reached at (250)753-0883. The gentleman
who exmnained the car is Rand Walker and he can be reached at (250)929-8007.
