Thanks Fern, and Rich, and Don, and everyone else for the advice - it's great to be able to be confident in the information - rather than only having the retailers and parts books to rely on. I'm putting new drums on the front, are they pressed onto the hub when assembled? or is it just 48+ years of rust, etc. that has held them on so stubbornly? I want to be sure I put everything back together properly . Any other sage advice for me? Arc the new shoes to the new drums, all new hardware, brake lines, etc., repacked bearings. Time to get 'ol Letter L out there to enjoy. Thanks again. The 1965 Mopar Parts Book also adds some confusion. I ordered my 300L new and one of the options was HD suspension and brakes. That, by the way, was the bargain of the century - $35. There was no disc brake option. That being said, the Parts Book shows a disc brake option for C Body Mopars n 1965, but indicates that it was a police car option. That probably was more apt to be available on the Plymouth or Dodge. The lining was 11 x 3 for the HD brakes. Not sure of the standard, but suspect it might have been 11 x 2 3/4. Measuring the inside diameter and the depth of the drums should give you the information you need. Also, just measure the width of the shoes, assuming they are original to the car. Don't be concerned about asking a dumb question. It's the dumb answers (like mine?) that might be a problem. Seriously, that's what we do on the Listserver - try to help our fellow 300 Nuts. Or is there more I need to research to determine the answer? If so, is it so simple that all I need to do is measure the shiny part on the inside of the current drums?
