Raphael It is very unlikely that you would need to remove the plugs. I agree that you should just overhaul the carbs yourself. Carb kits are available and aren't expensive. You don't have to have special tools, but a vernier calliper helps. Otherwise, screwdrivers, pliers and a steel rule. There isn't much that can go wrong if you follow instruction manuals such as http://www.chrysler300country.com/tech_published/imagepages/image1.html Make sure you have a table to leave your parts spread out over without interference from others and take your time. The only problem is the screws holding the butterflies to the shafts. If you don't have new ones, avoid removing them, as they can break off. You don't have to unless the shaft is completely flogged out. Fine tuning can be done on the car at a workshop with a gas analyser to set the best idle air/fuel ratio. I have collected a number of related Carter manuals just through the internet - some you have to pay for. Have a look, otherwise email me if you have a specific question. NB Due to comments about carbs boiling, I bought some phenolic carb spacers from http://www.dashman.net/product.html?id=203 Very good quality and the original air cleaners still fit the supports with a bit of fiddling. Other wise leave them alone. If the carburetors were working and the engine was running fine before, you can overhaul them yourself. I don't trust most carburetor shops. I have successfully rebuilt or overhauled my own carburetors over the years. The link http://www.carburetormanuals.com/products/carbmanuals/CM448.html#LinkTarget_ 3774 doen't work ,too bad because I 'm sure it would answer my questions about identification. I'm wondering if it's a good idea to remove all the carbs plugs to have them cleaned, I found new plugs available through parts suppliers but I'm afraid of leaks when everything is back together. Does any member allready done this ? I cannot give my carbs to a carburetor shop here in France because they don't have any knowledge about Carter WCFB and I don't want to send them away to some carburetor specialist in the USA unless I could trust them 200%.
