I don't know about the part number, but this I do know, or at least think I know.

As I understand, 1962 was the first year for the aluminum case torqueflite.  Someone set me straight if I am mistaken.

I know from my 1962 300 coupe that the parking brake assembly is attached to the tailshaft as the Lockheed rear brakes did not support using the rear brakes for the parking brake function.  With the introduction of Bendix brakes in 1963, parking brake function moved to the rear wheels and the transmission mounted parking brake disappeared.

You might be able to use a 1962 torqueflite in an older car with Lockheed brakes, but not on a newer car.
