It doesn't have to be for a 300B.  All '56 Chrysler passenger cars and Imperial used the same.  I suspect Desoto did as well.
 
If you can't find an NOS unit I believe Jeff Carter http://www.jcauto.com/ can repair yours.

Anyone have an old or extra gas tank sending unit for a '56 300B?     I'd like to find a NOS but haven't been able to locate one so I need to find one to rebuild.

Any help most appreciated.
