I forgot to mention that Chrysler/Dodge have a fix consisting of a revised cowl molding (black plastic). Water on top of the block and adjacent to a leaky intake manifold could damage any engine, even a stout old Chrysler 300 hemi. The failures often came after downpours or after going through a car wash. Haven't had the problem since. Pete Fitch In a message dated 5/13/2013 1:09:44 P.M. The water goes into the cylinder and, being incompressible, forms hydraulic lock, piston, rod, block and cylinder head failures. It would seem that water leaking from a head gasket into the top end of a cylinder could do the same thing.
