John, I share the same concern. I replaced the oil pressure hose 10 years ago and revisited it 5 years ago when I refurbished my instrument cluster. Pretty easy to do. NAPA provided the hose and fabricated the fittings for me. The oil pressure climate control hose eludes me. That whole system is an area of the vehicle I say a silent prayer that it won’t let loose anytime soon. It would require removing the dash board, etc. Then when you get to it....where are the parts that may have to be replaced? Perhaps remove the whole thing and replace the climate control system with ....blasphemy!!...an aftermarket Old Air Products Hurricane heater/defroster/A/C system? 300’ly, Rob Kern From: John Nowosacki Sent: Tuesday, August 13, 2013 3:46 PM To: list server Subject: [Chrysler300] oil pressure line to instrument cluster Does anyone know how to go about replacing the hose and fitting for the oil pressure gauge for the 57 Chryslers? I'm just thinking ahead, as I believe mine to be original and knowing that it is 56 years old tells me I should be thinking of what to do about getting something newer from the engine to my interior. I have similar thoughts about the a/c control, which for some bizarre reason Chrysler decided to drive the door/flap with oil pressure instead of vacuum or just some mechanical means. Those old hoses running through my interior behind/under the dash with engine oil pressure in them makes me nervous. Any thoughts?
