Larry;  Being the oil pump is off, fish a piece of welding rod with a .25" crook in the end into the pick-up hole and see if the tube is still connected or broken off. Blow low pressure air into the same hole. and listen if oil bubbling can be heard. I haven't seen a totally clogged oil pick up on a MoPar. I have seen them fully clogged on some Ford vans of the late nineties, the oil we were using was digesting the rear main rope seal and the fiber clogged the screen. Rick

Many of you had suggestions as to why no oil pressure on the 66 383 in a CM27. Removed the oil pump and find that the inner rotor rotates as the engine is cranked, and since the engine ran, both the oil pump and the distributor remain connected through the cam shaft. I have a new NAPA pump coming on Tuesday but doubt installation of it will change much of anything. Now I am thinking the oil pick-up must either be totally clogged, or disconnected from the pick up pipe. Any other thoughts?
