Re: [Chrysler300] Engine ID and year

HP means it's a High Performance Engine.
My 1965 300 "L" 413 is so marked and so is my 1970 Hurst 440.
Gone now, but my 1979 Li'l Red 360 was also marked HP.
I think it was mostly Cam and Carb. differences.
Ray, warming up now in Mena. Should be in the 50's tomorrow and 60's on Sat.

My friends '60 Dodge D500 Matador had engine block also marked HP.  Was a 383 with RAM INDUCTION system.  It had been used originally as our local sheriff's unmarked police car.  I drove it quite a bit in 1963, rode in it a lot more.   Fun ride!!!

I suspect that all 300F engines also had the HP designation, but that's only a guess.

My "H" has an HP stamped on it as well as the R41
