Re: [Chrysler300] Possible 300H in Craigslist ad?

Reading about this so called H-option on a standard 300 got me to thinking.

It is entirely possible that Chrysler depleated their inventory of 4-bucket seat interiors, a hold over from 1960 & 1961 before they used up the twin four barrel engines and 150 mph speedometers.  The H option package on the sport 300 could have been a mid-year production change.  It would be interesting to note the production dates of the H option package 300's.  Or it could have been a spring sales package for the sport 300, much like the "Silver 300" trim package in 1964.  I do remember seeing a '62 sport 300 with H engine and 150 mph speedometer at the 'Inc. meet in Santa Cruz in 1981.  I don't recall if it had an H emblem on the back, but it was a sport interior.  It was a white car but I don't remember who owned it.

Another project in data collection for the curious mind.

My friend Ian apparently had one of those, although he thought it exited because of the impracticality (gasp!) of the 4 bucket seats if you needed more room but wanted performance. In fact, it seems like the cost was close to the 300H.
Do you suppose they offered that for the 4 door 300's in 62? (I seem to recall four door sport 300s)

There was an "H" option that included everything but the interior and of course the H on the trunk.  I think I've run across 3 in my time. To the best of my knowledge, it was never publicized back when they were new.  My guess is the sales were so poor in '62 they created it to salvage some sales for people who wanted the performance without the price.
