I remember a light blue 300 sport conv. for sale many years ago at Carlisle. It had everything H about it(hi performance, sure grip, dual 4s, 150mph, etc.) except for the leather buckets and the "H" on the trunk lid...the bench seats were white vinyl...the seller was a dealer and installed some flashy but tacky(in my opinion) repro wire wheels. The claim was that it came from an estate and nothing had been altered since new except a partial cheap repaint. The reason he stated that it wasn't an H was because the original buyer just preferred bench seats. If I had the dough at the time it would probably be in my garage now...it was a very appealing automobile. John Kuegel, |
I seem to remember reading in one of my car books that a 300 Sport ordered with the H package performed the same but cost less than actually ordering an H. I think it was because you didn't get the 4 bucket seat all leather interior.
