George and All:
For my 300F I did the complete job myself. I used Gary's cushion foam
as my originals were in no condition to use. They were quite difficult to
install---one would think, starting out they would never fit---but with enough
"encouragement" they all did. To do the job, one needs to have the hog
ring tools of course. I obtained them from Eastwood, along with a good
supply of the hog rings. Probably the hardest part was capturing the
listing (I think that is the correct term) wire that pulls/holds the leather
down between the center section and the cushion side sections. It all came
out real well, if I do say so myself. Gary's covers were very good in all
respects. Mine were also a special order color, and he matched a section I
cut from under the seat back corner chrome perfectly.
For the backs, I used my original foam. They look very good, but
probably could have used a little more "body". At the time,
however, I determined that I would not be able to successfully
stuff them inside the leather seat back covers.
Anyway, such was my experience.
300ly, Gil Cunningham
