Jerry,
Very interesting!
The person that I purchased my car from said that there were additional chrome strips at the Chrysler scripts that he disposed of.
The parking brake release handle on my car is chrome plated metal which, I think is a left over 61 part, not like the black plastic handle that is standard on 62's.
I acquired my Sport conv. a little over 3 years ago and finally tried the Auto Pilot yesterday - IT WORKS!

Doug, My Black 62 300 Sport Convertible with Black California plates was built 8/31/61 and it’s vin# 8223102704. It is I believe original, no engine, but there were two different type front fender chrome pieces. I always thought one was a left over 61. As it had an extra chrome bar on it.

Subject: [Chrysler300] VIN # Question
Hi Group,
My 1962 sport conv. has the vin # 8223100064.
The car was assembled on 8-21-61.
Does the 00064 portion of the number mean that the car was the 64th Chrysler ( NY, 300, 300H, or Newport) to go down the assembly line?
Thanks in advance for your help,
Doug Warrener
