Type A Suffix A fluid is the same fluid recommended for the Torqueflite automatic transmission back in the day.  I have used Dextron ATF in both my transmission and convertible top pumps for the last 35 years.  My two cents for what its worth.

Hello, everyone:

Type A Suffix A fluid is recommended by Chrysler for the convertible top hydraulic system on my '64. I can't seem to find any and would like to know if ATF+3 or DOT 5 brake fluid would be suitable replacements. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
