To Angie Phillips and the many friends and acquaintances of Ed and Angie in both Chrysler 300 clubs: One of the many duties associated with serving as membership manager for a car club is reminding members that it is time to renew their membership. One of the sadness’s with the job is receiving notice of the passing of a member or a spouse. But, the duties and sadness’s are more than offset by the frequent thank you notes for volunteer service rendered and by correspondence such as that shown below. Pretty much makes it all worthwhile. Dual club members Ed and Angie Phillips of West Chicago attended the dual meet in Monterey in June, 2011 and own a rarest-of-the rare H convertible. Ed passed away less than three months ago on May 25. Background: I start the membership renewal process with e-mail and very recently sent a first notice out to members whose memberships were set to expire 9/30/14. Angie’s responses touched my heart and I felt that sharing her words might be helpful to others in the clubs who have lost or will lose the love of their life. I love Angie’s e-mail address that contains a Betty Boop reference. Like Betty, Angie has a great positive outlook. God bless you and comfort you, Angie, and thanks for sharing. We all look forward to seeing you and your 1962 300H convertible at future meets. I agree that Ed would want it that way.
