Day 3. Woke up early and turned on The Weather Channel this morning. Forecast was brutal - flood warning with heavy rains; confirmed with hotel manager's husband passing along USAF forecast from nearby Holliman Air Force Base. John Begian and I, still in Amarillo, were tossing about alternatives, like heading north to Colorado for some cruising to drier roadways. To pass some time, we went to see the nearby Cadillac Ranch - 10 Cadillacs half buried nose-first. Our F and G drew as much interest and admiration as those Caddys. After a few more calls with Michael Burke, Meet Host Bill Allen, and the hotel folks again, John and I decided to forge ahead towards Alamagordo. We did - a few downpours - no major flooding - the F and the G ran strong - we arrived fine - and are enjoying visiting with all our Club friends. Noel Hastalis Burr Ridge, IL Sent from my iPhone
