have any of you fellows who have a gift for things mechanical given any thought to using a 3d printer to duplicate car parts for our cars?. there is an article in yesterdays Parade magazine that told the story of a 3D printer creating an artificial arm for a young girl for $2000 that would have to be enlarged in six months as she grew. Prosthetic companies charge $60000 for the same product. There are many rubber and plastic parts and even low stress metal parts in cars that could be duplicated. I am just a retired pencil pusher but some of you fellows have a engineering gift , I can just tell from your posts. Might be a project?? pat
