When I was restoring my running gear, I pulled my rear shocks off.
They had coil spring overloads on them. I ordered new shocks ( I don’t
remember from who or any numbers now). When I removed the overload springs
off of the shocks that came on my 300F I tested them against the new ones I
bought. I couldn't believe the difference between the new ones against the
ones of of the car. I could hardly believe how much stiffer the old ones
were. So I sent back the new ones and reinstalled the old ones.
I have always wondered if having the overload springs on the old shocks
kept the shocks from wearing out. Who Knows.
