Doug, It’s been more than 12 years since I built my H, but if I remember correctly, you have to drop the steering column in order to get the cluster out. You also have to remove the chrome halo above the dome to access the top screws, and loosen the chrome side pieces that butt up against the assembly. I am having trouble removing the instrument cluster plastic dome on my 62 Sport. I have followed the instructions in the service manual, but still can't remove it. I have unscrewed the dome from the instrument cluster - per manual directions - and I am not able to squeeze, lift and move it forward at the same time. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
