If your F switch assembly is the type that has this little protruding button, you may need top know how to find it?! - usually one puts a hand up behind the dash so it can reach/feel the switch body, and then with finger/fingers, feels around the switch body for the little button/knob that seems to stick out of the side of the body by maybe 1/4 an inch, then once one has found something shaped like that, one depresses it at same time as one tries to pull the operating knob out of the dash by pulling it fully out as if turning the headlights lights on.
When the button is correctly depressed, the light switch knob/stalk will come out of the dash/switch, and one can un-depress the little knob - most GM and I think Ford use/used this type light switch in the late 60s/70s, but I cannot remember if Chrysler did with say my 300CS, even though I pulled a few of them out, Christopher in Australia To: lindsey@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx; Chrysler300@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx From: Chrysler300-noreply@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Date: Thu, 16 Apr 2015 22:40:48 -0700 Subject: RE: [Chrysler300] 300F headlight switch For many years, headlight switch knobs were permanently affixed to an actuating rod going into the switch. Then, there would be a little spring-loaded button that released the rod and enabled the rod and knob to be removed as a unit. Then there was usually a bezel that screwed onto the threaded extension of the switch that poked through the dash. Removing the knob and shaft, then removing the bezel allowed the switch to be removed from the back of the dash. I’m thinking that is the situation on an F.

Taking apart my dash to repaint and install new pad. I expected an allen screw to hold the headlight knob onto the switch body, but there is none. So how does the switch come apart to remove it from the dash? Being a pull on/off switch, doesn't seem logical to pry the knob off. Thanks
