I don't understand why there would be a problem locating the car. The
insurance company knows exactly where it is, and should be willing to let the
owners know that. As far as being able to purchase it from the insurance
company, that might be another matter, although I am sure that they have stated
a "salvage value" to the owner, or would do so if asked. Also, the tow
company should also know where it was taken and one could start from
there.
