Ryan, before you buy anything, you need to know what you really want/need.

If you are going to work on your cars, then a standard lift is good/

If getting that type, get the one with the overhead hoses and safety cables.

That stile leaves the floor clear under it. You can store a car on it, and one under it

If all you want is to just store cars, the 4 post lift will do.
You can get trays that slide on the ramps and hold jacks so you can work on the car.

Go to the 300 Club website and under tech find my article on installing my lift.

I've used it for years and only had to replace a piston seal. cost less than $100. installed.

Babco, and possibly others, sell BendPak and Dannmar lifts. Are these really the better quality residential type lifts or is it just advertising I'm buying into?
The big question for me is, from all with experience using these, what should I be focussing on to ensure I buy a storage lift that is going to be safe and reliable? Are any of these US or Canadian made any more? Is a lift that isn't anchored, and comes with castors to roll it around, as problematic as I envision it? (I know the castors are only active when you want to move it)
