Looks like 1955-1965 are all labeled Milestone Cars. Don’t know
about the Hurst.
I don’t know what significance this has.
My Very First Organized collector car group I joined.
I was but a young lad with 'Just an Old Car' until I stumbled across
these folks having their National Meet at IMS one weekend.
----------------------------------------------------------
The Milestone Car Society was founded in 1971, in the belief that the
time had come for connoisseurs of distinctive post-war cars - foreign
and domestic- to join in one major multi-marque Society in order to
better understand and enjoy all types of cars of the first 2 post war
decades.
MCS is not a rival to the one marque clubs, in fact we try to work
closely with them. MCS is a Society of enthusiasts whose interests
transcend more than one particular make of car. Thus it offers a
sterling opportunity to enjoy and learn about a variety of great
automobiles you normally don’t hear much about in a one Marque
Club. These are cars that transcend the mere act of getting from one
place to another, and were built between 1945 and 1972.
----------------------------------------------------------
They had a very nice publication for members, and were very open
about appreciating the cars they highlighted.
Inclusion was determined by 5 main criteria
"There are 5 Criteria for acceptance of a car as a Certified Milestone
Car. The model should be distinctive because of Styling, Engineering,
Performance, Innovation, and/or Craftsmanship-relative to their
contemporaries."
When I first joined the list of 'Milestones' wasn't as large as it
is now. During the 5-7 years I was a member they might have added
3-5 cars per year.
