Re: [Chrysler300] 64 413 AC radiator cap.

Dave,
Two other items to check;
1.radiator cap seal may be defective and not hold pressure.
2. Fan clutch may not be engaging properly at idle rpm.
Harbor Freight has inexpensive temp guns -  check radiator, block, heads, - problem may be defective temp gauge.
I had a similar problem with my 62 Sport w/ 413 & AC - replaced rad core and fan clutch - gauge still read too hot -  checked temp"s with temp gun - temps ok. Replaced defective gauge.

After installing the new 4 core with shroud, 7 blade fan and 160 thermo, the 300 runs hot, close to the upper limit.
Have not driven it yet, only raised the idle to 2k, and the gauge dropped a bit to the left.

The block is a new build with 200 or less miles, clean on the inside.
The cap is a 13 #.  No leaks. runs hot.

Any thing look incorrect ?

Thanks,
Dave D.
