Actually,
an AC pump has 6 veins on the impeller and non AC has 8. The reason for this is
the AC crank pulleys are higher ratio to turn fan at higher RPM for better
cooling. I have a 57 non air car and a 58 AC parts car. The AC motor had larger
diameter crank pulleys. This would run the fan faster. Gary

have it apart, visually compare.
In most cases the impeller is what is important. Usually an A/C car has bigger and maybe more blades on the actual pump that goes into the housing. A
standard non-air pump will fit and not move as much water, making it run
hotter.
