The tank in the 60 is already vented.

Sounds like one or both of your carburetor accelerator
pumps needs changing.
To solve a future problem: Use a VENTED gas cap.
Otherwise, you risk collapsing your tank. If you don't have one right now, drill
a 1/8" hole in your present cap. This will stabilize atmospheric pressure inside
the tank as you drive.
