Mike,  I used Isky spring kit# 3605D when I rebuilt my J.  The J service bulletin calls for 216-234# @1.860" (open valve), and 85-95# @1.43" (closed valve).  The Isky springs are 236# open and 101# closed.  They are the single spring with damper and the same free length as the originals.  Lynn
