I just wanted to make sure you received my message that there is a device in the outlet of the master cylinder specifically designed to hold a low positive pressure on the hydraulic system with the brake pedal fully released. On a newer year master cylinder this little check valve could only be removed by completely disassembling the master cylinder and driving the check valve out with a long punch or rod inserted from the firewall end. I don’t know how you would inspect it other than for some obvious buildup of sludge, corrosion or other foreign material in or around the body of this tiny valve. And, it might be hard to tell if this little valve was installed correctly. If the valve was damaged during manufacture or rebuilding that might be obvious. The brake shoes must also be free to retract fully when the system pressure is released. Alignment of shoes to backing plate, light lubrication with a proper lube and properly selected and installed springs and other brake hardware are all critical to proper de-activation of the brakes with pressure released. Finally, the ID of the brake drums must be properly machined and within tolerance of warpage, angularity, taper and remaining thickness. Let us know what you find during that long, cold & dark Norwegian winter. All the best 300’ly wishes from US in the USA. Now I have checked, and adjusted the clearance at the pushrod. It was a bit tight, but still pressure after releasing the pedal. Something most be wrong inside the master cylinder, maybe some valve installed backwards. I need to take it apart for control and I will compare it with the old one. I will also check the brake hoses. This will be a winter job.
