RE: [Chrysler300] Legendary Auto - 20% Discount on Manufactured Items.

I was fortunate enough to obtain a set of black leather seat covers for our 300K from Gary Goers.  He included some unshaped specialty foam pieces for the back seat and I obtained a rather generic foam kit for the front seats from Legendary.  That kit was said to “fit” a wide variety of Chrysler bucket seats with “some trimming necessary on some models”.  Gary advised that a skilled upholsterer could easily shape and customize the foam pieces using an electric knife.  My installer whined and complained but did trim the foam pieces to fit very nicely.  My installer is probably used to more specific foam kits for GM & Ford iron.  The results were gorgeous--maybe even better than new.  Thanks, Gary—you have made a lot of fannies happy over the years.

Interesting that “Air Foam” seats were standard on 300’s and New Yorkers in 1964 and optional on the Newport.  Wondering what the standard Newport seat must have been padded with?  Jute?  Horsehair?

Thirteen years ago, when I built my 300H, I bought both the seat upholstery and the foam from Gary Goers. The foam was an exact fit, and exact contour as original. The leather fits like a leather glove. Tight and firm, even to this day, after 18,000 miles. If I ever need another set, Gary would be my go-to guy.

Happy Moparing,

John

I have purchased two upholstery sets from Legendary, one for a 66 Sport Fury Convertible "Citron" and the other for a 68 Wood sided Newport Convertible in "Blue". I also put matching convertible tops, green for the 66 and Blue for the 68. My question is, seat foam, can you buy pre-maid bucket seat foam? I would hope so. Making the foam properly with bolsters, seats and proper reliefs for fit and finish, to me seems very difficult and detailed work. Most average upholsterers just put a flat sheet of foam and forget about everything else. When I had mine completed I needed to ensure that the proper fit and shape of the surface was correct. So back to my question, where can you get "Correct" seat foam assemblies to do your uphols tery installation to maintain the proper look?

Legendary Auto Interiors is giving a 20% discount on manufactured items ordered through November 2, 2015.

I ordered brown vinyl upholstery for the two front bucket seats on our 1970 Chrysler 300 Convertible. The Brown vinyl sample is an exact match.

It takes about three to four weeks to complete the order.

Our Upholstery shop said to order it from Legendary instead of getting the vinyl from SMS in Canby, Oregon. He will install new foam. The original foam is toast.
