Hi Ryan - I recall in the 60's growing up in Alberta, we bought "purple gas" from a bulk fuel dealer for our boat at 22 cents/gallon. Gas for vehicles on public roads was not quite twice the price at the time. I think "purple gas" is still available for non-road use in boats and farm equipment, and red dye is added to heating oil in Canada, but may be out of date on that.
I mentioned in an email string on this subject about a year ago that in Canada, Shell Gold is the only widely sold gasoline that has no ethanol. My old cars operate quite well on it, except for one shall remain nameless non-Mopar with a 455 that still needs octane booster to keep it from pinging.

Just in case you needed to know, it's COLD here today!
Here in Dayton (and I suspect many other areas around the country) I get non-ethanol 100 octane leaded gas at my local private airport. They just take my 5 gallon container and fill it right out of the fuel truck. No questions asked. Expensive, but just 5 gallons into a tank of non-leaded premium really makes my 300F run like a new car. Terry Mc Taggart
