I do that also Paul! It can make for a a real light show. I haven;t done that yet on my Chrysler, but may have to soon. 
(The trick is to sit in the dark with an idling engine long enough for one’s eyes to become accustomed to the dark without killing yourself with CO poisoning!)

Thats why some of us learned to look for spark leakage at night,
under a dark sky with no lights its easier to see the spark jumping
around if it is leaking. Either at the coil or anywhere along the wires.
Spark tends to look for the path of least resistance when seeking a
path to ground.
