My experience?  Today's simple replacement halogen lamps don't overload the wiring but if you replace the highbeams with some expensive highpower bulbs, you must use a relay to power them.  I found out the hard way when the 66 300's headlight switch overloaded and left me in the dark until I switched to the oem low beams and the lights came on again.   

Larry Jett      I think I will just put an "out-of-order" sticker on my forehead and call it a day.
