It sounds like Rich B was right…better to ride with possibly limited adhesion of silicone or RTV , than to take a chance on aggressive solvents…I think I have used the WS stuff without issues but why chance it. I have used the weatherstrip stuff many times to hold the numerals to the C-G side emblems. It fills the holes from behind, avoids those clips which are frankly lousy, hard to get tight and can break the little pin trying to get off) (you can add those clips too), but also prevents rattling and looseness and falling off. Not that any of us have lost a 3, zero or F off a side Medallion. Factory ones sometimes have a big ball of hard body sealant behind the medallion . So they had some issues day one too. I set it in place , went back a few minutes later and saw that the adhesive was eating through and melting my brand new emblem that I bought from the club. That was like throwing 50 bucks in the trashcan. I ordered a new emblem and used "Permatex Clear RTV Silicone Adhesive Sealant ". That was about 8 years ago and its still intact. Charlie Valentine From: "Michael Falcone mjf175@xxxxxxx [Chrysler300]" <Chrysler300-noreply@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> super glue may discolor the paint on the back of the emblem. I used 3M auto emblem and trim adhesive double sided tape with no problem. Available at most auto parts stores. -----Original Message----- Hi All, What is the best way to attach the above emblem ? I have a new tube of "super glue" but wanted help first. & nbsp; Thanks, Val Jeffers __._,_.___ Posted by: "John Grady" <jkg@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> To send a message to this group, send an email to: Chrysler300@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx To unsubscribe from this group, send an email to bob@xxxxxxxxxxxxx or go to https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/all/manage/edit For list server instructions, go to http://www.chrysler300club.com/yahoolist/inst.htm For archives go to http://www.forwardlook.net/300-archive/search.htm#querylang __,_._,___ |
