Excellent presentation—directly applicable to ’63-’64 Chryslers and many other vehicles. Thank you, Bob! I note that on our ’64 300K conv, there are ten wires connected to the headlight switch and they are all fastened to a single black plastic plug/connector that fits onto the spades facing up on the headlight switch. Removal of the connector from the switch and replacing it on the new switch may be easier after the mounting bezel is removed and the switch lowered below the dash. I made a tool for removal of the bezel from coat-hanger wire. Just make it long enough to grasp and bend it into a U-shape that will enable the ends to just fit the two small holes in the bezel. I found that bending the tips at right angles helped develop needed torque for loosening and tightening the bezel. Be careful not to leave tracks by scratching the bezel and good luck threading the bezel back into the switch. Having a helper here makes sense. Easier to remove the bezel than replace it as Bob notes. Long, flexible skinny body and arms, strong fingers, ability to do best work in the dark by feel and a rich vocabulary will be helpful.
