The deck lid “300” letters began to be installed sometime in early November to mid-December 1960. This is based on research done over the years by Andy Mikonis and myself and input from club members.. The question comes up from time to time, and I have personally looked at a number of 300Gs and SO numbers that support this opinion. Gary Goers offers the “300” numbers if he still has them. They are installed on the decklid by press fit from the top into a spring clip, no nut or holes visible from underneath. They could be added if desired, but for the sake of originality, I’d leave them off if I was restoring and early G. Another early feature of the G is push button vent window locks, but the changeover on those was earlier as best I can tell. Bob J From: Chrysler300@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:Chrysler300@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Val Jeffers edward1108@xxxxxxxxx [Chrysler300] Good morning everyone, Are the 300 numbers on a G Deck lid actually ordered or just put on in some period of production ? Also, are they the same as on the quarter panel emblems ? If possible, I would like a set.
