I did the same as Charlie six years and 6000 miles ago on my C - AAJ front discs only and stayed with the single master - and I am really pleased with the outcome too. I went with all new hydraulics throughout the brake system, and I am trusting the single master as there is no plug-in dual master that will fit without an engine interference in the '57-'58 hemi cars. The car stops smooth and arrow-straight every time - even right out of hibernation. I am using DOT 4, and this reminds me it's time to change that out and see if I have any moisture or beginnings of rust in the system.

I did find it necessary to tinker a bit with the AAJ-supplied proportioning valve to get front and rear skidding the same. And I also ended up installing a check valve on the rears (I don't remember the exact psi) to keep the rear shoes from releasing too far..

I  installed the AAJ kit on my 62 300 sport convertible about 10 years ago. I just bought the basic kit for the front brakes from AAJ.  No sense paying for shipping , 3000 miles, for the heavy parts when the rotors and calipers can be bought at your local parts store. Got all my stuff at the local Napa.

I stayed with the original master cylinder and it still works great.

H Charlie; I was very impressed with the full kit . Very well done . JY Chouinard had told me he had good success too . So I followed his lead . At first I was tempted by the minimal kit, for 300F ,  but with  deluxe kit all the running around is avoided , every part from wheel bearings,  rotors , spindle  adapters , even hoses fittings etc is included . It may be several hundred dollars more than the ones you see advertised but worth every cent . The machined parts like spindle wheel bearing spacers / adapters are simply beautifully made ( spoken as engineer) . AAA++++ from me . 

Buying another one for front of 57 dodge shortly . 
While I know they can be made to work ok , total contact front brakes can drive you crazy . Perhaps best described as very innovative , effective , smart , but as a result fussy . And rust in drum after sitting over winter often causes dramatic lock up in spring due to the two leading shoes .. ( arrange so you back up , and brake first!) . Took me a while ( many years) to “get” that . You at first think brakes went bad over winter . 
Plus maintenance / parts looking ahead. I find myself moving to front discs. Slowly . And silicone fluids..

My research seems to indicate that if there are going to be issues, that it will be the master cylinder. Looks like pre - 62 models use a different master cylinder due to it's location under the booster.. The actual disc brake hardware does not seem to be that great an issue.
