Dave My upholstery guy covered mine in black headliner material a few months ago and it looks great. I gave it numerous coats of spray epoxy paint after repairing a couple of the little radio grille bars with wood glue before he recovered it. Admittedly, it isn't stock but only a few will know that and now it looks much better next to the new Legendary Pearl leather (that he also installed.) If anyone is interested in a pic of the recovered tray, please send me an e-mail separately (off the listserver). How hard would it be to make them with a 3-D printer? They are made of fiberboard, and repairs can be made with fiberglass strips, then trimmed for fit. This fix does not come out completely perfect. Mine has split between defroster slot, up to the raised windshield edge. Perhaps they can be reproduced with a flexible plastic, then trimmed for fit?
