Update on the surcharge: One of Gary’s recent customers reports that Gary’s current surcharge is 30% for inflation plus 15% for shipping & handling—total is 45%. He is willing and able to accept and (slowly) fill orders for the small stuff he has in stock. But he is not encouraging this—preferring to use his remaining strength and mobility for cleaning up loose ends and taking inventory of a barn full of small and valuable parts to facilitate the sale of his business. He realizes the demand will continue, that his love and dedication for the work, the hobby and we hobbyists will prevail and that he will continue to accept and fill orders until he says “Cease”. He has not said that yet. He has said he appreciates the cards, letters and prayers that helped get him through the long and painful amputation process. To make his work easier, use his order blank and price sheet, add 25% for inflation & shipping and mail the order to him. Include some words of encouragement. He is doing better, infections under control. He is winding down and talked about someone that may take over his business.
